CHULA

Meet Chula, the newest member of our herd! Her name means “beautiful” in Spanish—and she truly is, inside and out.

Chula is a 13-year-old American Quarter Horse who used to be a show horse, and she still loves to show off a little—especially her smooth, happy trot that makes everyone smile!

She is kind, gentle, and loves spending time with kids. Chula has quickly become a favorite in our program, and it’s easy to see why—once you meet her, you can’t help but love her! 🐴💗

Sebastian

Sebastian is a young Icelandic horse who came all the way from Iceland to the United States with a herd of other Icelandic horses—how cool is that? Even though he’s technically a horse, he’s pony-sized, which makes him extra adorable and just the right size for kids to enjoy.

Sebastian has a big personality! He is very outgoing, loves being around people, and has a playful spirit that makes everyone smile. One of his favorite things to do is kick and chase around his oversized soccer ball—it’s always fun to watch him play!

Sebastian has now completed his training and is a wonderful addition to our riding program. He does his best with kids’ rides while on a lead, helping create a safe and fun experience for young riders. But if you ask Sebastian, he’ll tell you his favorite part is getting lots of attention, being groomed, and making new friends at The Horse Experience.

BRUCE

Bruce, also known as “Mr. Chill,” is one of the most loved horses at The Horse Experience—especially by the kids! He is a 24-year-old Quarter/Morgan horse with lots of fun and lovable qualities that always make people smile.

Bruce is a gentle soul with a sweet, calm temperament, which makes him a favorite for many of our students. He has been part of The Horse Experience family for over 12 years, helping teach kids not only how to ride, but also how to care for and understand horses.

With his goofy and playful personality, Bruce brings joy to everyone he meets. Whether he’s being extra silly or just quietly soaking up attention, he truly lives up to his nickname—“Mr. Chill.”

IN MEMORY OF DARYL (1996-2021)

Daryl may no longer be with us, but his spirit is forever part of The Horse Experience. In many ways, he is the reason this program exists at all, and we continue to honor him by sharing his story.

Daryl was a 25-year-old Thoroughbred with a true “been there, done that” personality. He had experience in dressage, reining, and trail riding, and carried himself with quiet confidence under saddle. But what made Daryl so special wasn’t just his training—it was his heart.

He had a natural desire to connect with people and an incredible instinct for keeping his riders safe. While he was tall, he was truly just a big puppy at heart. He loved people—especially kids—and had a gentle, affectionate way about him that made everyone feel at ease.

New riders especially appreciated his responsiveness, steady gait, and kind nature. For over 10 years, Daryl was our go-to lesson horse—the one we trusted to help students build confidence, learn, and fall in love with riding.

We lost our dear Daryl in 2021, and he is missed every single day. But his presence is still felt here. We believe he continues to guide us in spirit, helping us stay true to our path of teaching, connecting, and sharing the magic of horses with all who come to The Horse Experience.
